Notas

the writer depicts Christ as the last Adam who is already lord with dominion over the cosmos and any power in it. His readers in Asia Minor still needed to be assured that this world was not simply a continual battleground of warring forces where the hostile powers were in control and needed to be placated.
The writer therefore makes clear that there can be no justification for believers considering themselves as in any way in bondage or debt to such powers. Instead, God had shown in Christ’s resurrection and exaltation that this world was his creation over which he had put Christ in control and that life could be lived by trust in the Creator’s power, which was there for his people.
