Robinson suggests the Book of Ephesians emphasizes that God’s purpose for the human race is its unity in Christ exhibited in the corporate life of the church. Chadwick enlarges on this by stating that the epistle stresses unity of the church and thus demonstrates to the non-Pauline churches their need for unity with the Pauline churches and the Jewish Christians. - Harold W.
