The spirituality of God means more than that He is not material nor visible. The same may be said of the angels. For that reason John does not say, God is a spirit, but rather, “God is Spirit.” God as Spirit is distinct not only from the material and visible world; He is also distinct from the angelic world. God is the absolute ground, the only source of all created existence whether that creature be a physical or a spiritual being or whether, like man, it partake of both. John Weidenaar
