There is a deep conviction that the redemptive workings of the Holy Spirit which are now experienced are but the prelude to a far richer and more complete redemption in the future, and that the era which has been ushered in by the first coming of Jesus Christ will be followed by another era which will be more glorious than this one can possibly be. In other words, the New Testament believer is conscious, on the one hand, of the fact that the great eschatological event predicted in the Old Testament has already happened, while on the other hand he realizes that another momentous series of eschatological events is still to come
The Bible and the Future
Existe la profunda convicción de que la obra redentora del Espíritu Santo que ahora se experimenta no es más que el preludio de una redención mucho más rica y completa en el futuro, y que a la era que se inauguró con la primera venida de Jesucristo le seguirá otra era que será más gloriosa de lo que esta pueda ser. En otras palabras, el creyente del Nuevo Testamento es consciente, por un lado, de que el gran acontecimiento escatológico predicho en el Antiguo Testamento ya ha ocurrido, mientras que, por otro lado, se da cuenta de que aún está por venir otra serie trascendental de acontecimientos escatológicos.
